Norwich boss Daniel Farke is a fan of on-loan Harrison Reed, it would seem.

The central midfielder is on loan from Premier League strugglers Southampton. But the youngster has impressed over course of the season for Norwich City.

Farke has been open with his desire for Reed to return next season, but understands that it is ultimately not down to himself, or Norwich.

“There is no secret Harrison Reed has played a really good season. He is able to play in a number of different positions and for such a young lad he has become pretty important.

I like to work with him and would like to work with him further on.

It is not in our hands because it is just a loan. We have to wait a little bit and see what the thoughts are of Southampton.

But, yes, I would be happy to work with him and like him a lot.”

The season isn’t yet over for Reed, with 3 games still to go in the Championship. And he will be hoping his form for Norwich could enhance his reputation. If a return to Carrow Road is off the cards, Reed would be hoping he can get first team minutes for Southampton, regardless of which division they are playing in.

Reed has made 21 league appearances for Norwich this season, and Norwich fans are hoping he does make a return next season, such has been his impression on them.
